Grandchildren weekend at Grandview!

I can't believe it has been several weeks since our annual weekend away with my siblings, parents and their families.  I wanted to post pictures sooner but 300+ photos are very time consuming to go through and to try to pick a few favorites is next to impossible.

We kept our traditions and celebrated Mom's birthday, did a lot of swimming, played cards after the children went to bed, took turns making meals, colored Easter eggs,  went tubing and just had a lot of fun.  We had the addition of baby Xavier this year.  He was a little trooper with all of the cousins wanting to hold and bother him.  We had a wonderful time and look forward to the big weekend every year.

These are a few favorite photos from the weekend.

We started out with a trip to Treasure City....a favorite for the girls.  (More junk than you could ever imagine.)

They each picked their own prize and Tess's was pretty much my favorite.  Syd's shocking gum trick came in as a close second.

I tried to capture as many things as I could and others videotaped other excitement.
this little guy was a favorite to hold
a new addition fun addition to this year was a little dancing to the Wii.
swimming is always a hit

Easter egg coloring is so much for for the adults and the kids.

next year I am sure this little boy will want to decorate eggs
the annual Grandma's birthday photo is always a challenge
and sometimes our friend, "TV" gives the adults some time relax and visit in the daylight.
more photo shoots to capture the craziness and make Steve roll his eyes at my insistence on doing it.

we like to include Grandma and Grandpa in the fun
 and some not-so-forced photos

tubing for the "older kids"
(I didn't get a snap of Joe's family, sorry!)

Our final morning

we broke a record and were ready BEFORE check out time...miracles do happen.

  • As you can see we had a wonderful time together.  Every winter it is the highlight after the holidays are over and before Spring hits.  Thanks to my wonderful family for another great getaway.  Love, Gina
