12 years ago today, I woke up early in the morning with a long contraction, my water broke and after several hours at home in our condo in Boston, I decided it was time to head to the hospital to join my friends to get us our first baby. After hours of crawling on my hands and knees at home we jumped in the car, picked up Dunkin' Donuts for the nurses and went to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital. We were joined there by many great friends and our special nurse, Sue. She took wonderful care of me, got me my epidural, shed tears with me and let me reapply my lipstick and put some gum in before racing to the OR for my emergency cesarean section. It was a wonderful relief to hear the first cries of our spicy little 6 pound 14 ounce redhead. I was sure she was going to be little "Noah" but she was little Gabriella and then the next day she was little Sydney. We brought our little baby everywhere we went and all over the country. We have had so much fun with her. She has been our assertive little, smart, motherly 1st born personality since the day she arrived. She is beautiful both inside in out with her fair skin, lovely red hair and her wise beyond her years personality. It has been a joy to watch her grow into such a mature young lady. She promoted me to my proudest title of "Mother" and has taught me so much since February 18, 2004. I thank God everyday for choosing me for her Mom.
Love you Sydney.
